...can be as relaxing or as exciting as you want it to be! Golfing, fishing, hiking, bicycling, whitewater rafting, antiquing - Western North Carolina has it all! Home to attractions like the famous Biltmore House, Carl Sandburg Home, Thomas Wolfe Memorial, the Folk Art Center, Botanical Gardens and Chimney Rock Park. Hendersonville is the home of the Apple Festival each year. Many other folk and art festivals are held throughout the year in the area, including Bele Chere, a famous street festival in nearby downtown Asheville.
For the music and theater enthusiasts, there is the Diane Wortham Theater, Flat Rock Playhouse, Brevard Music Center, Asheville Community Theater, and the Asheville Civic Center. For the sports-minded, there's the Asheville Smoke hockey team and the Asheville Tourists baseball club.
